NRA First Steps Pistol is designed to provide a handgun introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes or four or fewer students. This class is at least 3hrs long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA's rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students should bring their ear and eye protection, handgun, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition.
We provide a first aid CPR class that will certify you in CPR and give you the skills and knowledge to treat traumatic injuries and provide first aid. In violent encounters it is a very real possibility you or a family member can be injured, sometimes severely.
$50 Personal Protection Without a Firearm is a class designed to help keep people safe who do not want to carry a firearm for self defense but want to use less lethal means to defend themselves. This class teaches situational awareness, using common objects as defensive tools, mace/pepper spray, stun guns/tasers, knives, and other defensive tools, unarmed defensive techniques.

This is a Defensive handgun course designed to take a student who can load and shoot their handgun to the next level. The student will learn defensive handgun skills such as; The draw cycle; Trigger control; Shooting from various positions; Cover and concealment; Rapid sight alignment and point shooting; Emergency and tactical reloads; Clearing malfunctions; Shooting on the move; Carry methods; And more.
The student will shoot a series of stages designed to test the skills that are learned in the class.
Students should bring their ear and eye protection, handgun, appropriate strongside, appendix, or offbody holster, cover garment, and ammunition carrier, at least 3 magazines or speed-loaders, 5 Snap Caps or dummy rounds, and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the one day class and at least 1000 rounds for the two day class.
NRA Basic Pistol is at least 8hrs and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the NRA's rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunity for skill development.

I use the USCCA curriculum to teach a BCA certified class for the MN Permit to Carry. After completing this course you will be able to take your certificate to the appropriate Law Enforcement Agency for your area to apply for your MN Permit to Carry. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills; strategies for home safety; responding to a violent confrontation; firearms and the law; choosing a handgun for self defense; and continued opportunities for skill development: and tourniquet application/first aid.
Students should bring their ear and eye protection, handgun, and at least 50rounds of ammunition.
If you have purchased a handgun and are not proficient with it, we recommend the NRA First Steps Pistol course PRIOR to the MN Permit to Carry course.
You must know how to load, unload, and shoot your handgun PRIOR to this class.
You can also add CPR and first aid to this and receive your CPR certification for an additional cost.
